Business Terms of Use

These Business Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the AquaCalc for Business embedding service ("the Service") provided by AquaCalc ("we", "us", "our"). By applying for access, embedding our tools or articles, or using the business portal, you ("you", "your", the "Partner") agree to these Terms on behalf of your business. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

The Service

The Service lets you embed AquaCalc calculators, tools and article content ("the Content") into your own website using a snippet of code and a licence key we issue to you. We host and maintain the Content centrally, which means updates and improvements appear on your site automatically. The Service is currently provided free of charge.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to embed and display the Content on the specific website domain(s) we have approved for your account, for the benefit of your customers, for as long as these Terms are in force.

What you may do

• Embed our tools and articles on the website domain(s) we have approved for your account.
• Place your own heading, introduction, branding and footer around the embedded Content.
• Style the embed to fit your site, including using the appearance options we provide (light, dark, or inherit).
• Let your customers use the embedded tools and read the embedded articles freely.

What you must not do

• Don't use it on unapproved sites. Only embed on the domain(s) we have approved. Ask us before adding a new site — we verify domain changes for security.
• Don't share or resell your key. Your licence key is for your business only. Don't share it, sublicense it, resell access, or let a third party embed the Content using your account.
• Don't copy, scrape or rehost the Content. Access the Content only through the embed we provide. Don't copy, download, cache, scrape, republish or store our calculators, code or article text to serve them yourself or elsewhere.
• Don't pass our articles off as your own. Our articles are our original, fact-checked work. Don't claim authorship of them, remove authorship, or present them in a way that misleads readers about who wrote them.
• Don't remove our attribution ("Powered by AquaCalc") unless we have explicitly agreed white-labelling for your account.
• Don't alter the output. Don't modify, intercept or misrepresent the results of our calculators or the substance of our articles (for example, changing figures, dosing guidance or care advice).
• Don't abuse the Service. Don't attempt to bypass domain-locking, reverse-engineer the Service, probe or attack our systems, or place excessive or automated load on our servers.
• Don't use it unlawfully. Don't use the Content in any way that is illegal, misleading, defamatory, or harmful, or that infringes anyone's rights.
• Don't misuse our brand. Don't use the AquaCalc name, logo or trademarks except to display the attribution we provide, or as we otherwise permit in writing.

Educational information, not professional advice

Our tools and articles are provided for general educational purposes about aquarium keeping. They are not a substitute for professional, veterinary or specialist advice. While we fact-check our content and work hard to keep it accurate, we do not warrant that it is complete, error-free or suitable for every situation. You and your customers use the Content at your own risk, and you are responsible for how you present it to your customers.

The Service is provided "as is"

We aim to keep the Service reliable and available, and to keep the Content current. However, because the Service is provided free of charge, we provide it "as is" and "as available", without guarantees of uninterrupted availability or a formal service level. We may update, change, add to, or withdraw tools and Content, or change how the Service works, at any time. We will try to avoid breaking existing embeds without reason.

What we record

To run the Service and show you usage in your portal, we record when your embedded tools and articles are loaded, along with the requesting website domain. We do not collect your customers' personal data through the embeds. Our handling of any personal data (such as your contact details) is covered by our Privacy Policy.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Service at any time by removing the embed code from your site. We may suspend or revoke your licence — immediately and without notice — if you breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or if we reasonably need to (for example, for security or legal reasons). We may also withdraw the free Service generally with reasonable notice. On termination, your right to embed the Content ends and you must remove the embed code.

Our liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service or the Content. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms.

Changes and governing law

We may update these Terms from time to time; the current version always lives at this page, and continued use of the Service means you accept the latest version. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
